The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly in Italian) - 4 Stars (Excellent)
After enjoying unexpected commercial success with "A Fistful of Dollars" and "For a Few Dollars More", Italian director Sergio Leone completed his trilogy of "Spaghetti Western" with "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly."
Surprisingly, even at this point in his masterful direction of western movies in Spain, Leone would benefit from a value of nickel of adulation from the critics onlyLaurel Awards would be a single premium for Clint Eastwood's performance of action, which was runner-up.
Hollywood and its stars Sergio Leone ignored, as was Johnny Depp. They refuse to acknowledge that the Western image and pirated can be done with art and drama performances are unique. Clint Eastwood is the man without a name, and Johnny Depp is the perfect pirate Captain Jack Sparrow. It will never be the same in both these roles.
At least oneDirector, writer and actor Quentin Tarantino, has identified Leone The Good, the Bad and the Ugly "is the most direct films of all time." It 'was Quentin Tarantino, the film goers of "Reservoir Dogs" was. "Pulp Fiction" and "Kill Bill (Vol 1 and Vol 2)" among others.
But it helped to return to Leo, who wrote the screenplay with all Vincenzoni Luciano. It 'been Vincenzoni provided the premise for the film three villains in search of a treasure in the American Civil WarWar and the title.
The triangle is bad The Good (Clint Eastwood, a professional gunslinger known as "Blondie" in this film, The Man With No Name as a result of western movies spun off her character would), the Bad (Lee Van Cleef, a self-centered killer called "Angel Eyes") and the Ugly (Eli Wallach, a self-absorbed outlaw known as "Tuco").
In short it is the plot of the first ring as a killer of the three villains in good faith. BlondieThen, a pseudo-bounty hunter in partnership with Tuco, turned it in abundance, to save him before he was hanged, and repeat the process until Blondie leaves Tuco in the desert to die. Tuco survives and lives to find Blondie and revenge.
As Blondie is in the process while they are forced to go through the desert to die of Tuco, are interrupted by a charge out of control, driverless car with the bodies. Except for a body, Bill Carson, lives long enough to say Tucowhere $ 200,000 in gold buried in exchange for water. While it is true for water Tuco, Blondie says Carson's grave in a cemetery exactly where the gold can be found. Suddenly have a reason to be partners again.
He is dressed in the uniform of the Confederate dead race Blondie Tuco, who is near death, a local Catholic mission Tuco's brother, a priest. Blondie recovery is going well, but Tuco reconciliation with his brother.
Blondie and Tuco leavethe mission and finally captured by Union soldiers, and in a prison camp where Angel Eyes (now Union sergeant) takes personal responsibility for the torture of prisoners. Eye corner is aware that gold has its own rhythm Tuco nonsense enforcer, and learns the name of the cemetery. He then turns Tuco in abundance, free Blondie (who knows the exact location), and he and his band of five club head to the cemetery with Blondie.
Tuco creates lost on the way to his hanging emerged ina city of the Union forces bombed silly, and turn right into Blondie, Angel Eyes and his band of 5 Blondie and Tuco manages to kill all five clubs such as escapes Angel Eyes, and now all three are direct the cemetery.
Cross on their way to the cemetery Blondie and Tuco a real battle of the Civil War for a bridge over a river, walking through the cemetery. They bear witness to the carnage under way, the demolition of the bridge, and then the soldiers of both sides as well as Blondie and Tuco motion.
Oncein the cemetery, it is inevitable that the three villains face off in a showdown of the greatest Western ever made were. The comparison is full of panoramic photos masterful Lion, close-ups and intelligent sequence of events of the past. If you have not seen this film, it is necessary, is the greatest westerns of all time. If you have seen, you should review to better appreciate the masterful direction of Sergio Leone.
There are many great moments in this film. Two of my favoritesTuco involved. In the first, while Tuco is bombed-out cities, can take to find a bathtub and a bathroom. While this is a bounty hunter (remember when Tuco have a bounty on his head) the naked in the tub.
At the beginning of the movie The Bounty Hunter one of the three armed men, and Tuco Tuco shoots is to address all three. What confronts Tuco lost his right arm, but has lived and now shoots with his left arm. Remember his situation, yet so Tuco, Tucokills him with his gun, hidden under the water bubble. Tuco then speaks of this memorable line: "If you shoot to shoot, talk, do not."
The other scene I love is when Tuco goes for miles and miles of desert and in a city with a gun shop in front of him. After pouring into a tub of water, approached the owner, a remake of a gun by three guns, and then steps outside to test the weapon.
He has three standing figures down range,Turn it sideways, and then fired three shots at each cut into two halves. Two figures fall immediately, and stops the third. Tuco takes a sip of whiskey, and then jump and ends up falling for the third goal. This is a movie guy, and you really need to honor a man who I want to share here. Tuco role in this scene has helped reinvent the word cool.
Viewers of this film were not aware at the time when Eli Wallach (Tuco) killed almost three timesplays its role.
It was on the set nearly poisoned after drinking acid, bags full of gold coins, so that they would tear it easier to burn when hit with a spade. A technical film had poured acid into a bottle of lemon soda and Wallach did not know. He drank lots of milk and ended the scene with his mouth full of sores.
In another scene where Wallach was hanged shortly before, while on a horse, the rope was fired from the gun, but the horse galloping fear of cuttingWallach nearly a mile with their hands tied behind his back and even tightened the noose around his neck.
In a third scene, handcuffed him to cut his captors by his captors to get places gelding on the rails and wait for a train and the chains on their wrists. It 'been a foot of track and duck his head to the ground as the train rolls by. The entire film crew, and did not know that gelding heavy iron seeps from every garage and blocked one of the manyWagons with iron steps were beheaded gelding had to have his head up.
Wallach recognize and complain later in his autobiography that security on the set was not a major concern Leone directed the film.
For the record, was the full name in Tuco Tuco Benedito Pacifico Juan Maria script Ramirez.
By Sergio Leone barely spoke English and barely spoke Italian Eli Wallach, the two communicated in French. As internationalemploys cast, only Eastwood, Van Cleef and Wallach spoke in English was, and were known in Italy for its debut in Rome. All other international actors spoke mostly French or Spanish and were dubbed in later. This explains the fact that none of the dialogues of the film was completely in tune.
Here are three interesting facts of children's films:
1) The cache of gold in the film was $ 200,000, which does not seem a lot of money now. However, gold was $ 20 +one ounce in 1862 and was $ 628 per ounce in 2006, when gold was actually worth more than $ 6 million in today's money.
2 used) In the film, Blondie (Clint Eastwood), a Colt 1851 cartridge conversion revolver with snake attacks of silver and a Winchester "Yellow Boy" 1866 has seen increased with scale. Angle Eyes (Lee Van Cleef) has used a Remington 1858 Army percussion revolver. Tuco (Eli Wallach) 1851 Navy Colt revolver used a hammer with a rope. The soldiers used Gatling guns with drumMagazines and Howitzer cannons.
3) Clint Eastwood wore the same poncho, without replacement or cleaning during the three spaghetti westerns of Leone. In the second film (For a Few Dollars More) you can visibly see that his Poncho, after about seven bullet holes of Winchester Ramon was wounded in a handful of dollars patch. The recommended range, which was originally worn on the left chest, over his right shoulder blade Eastwood in For a Few Dollars More.
